About the Author Chapter 01

Christine Lagarde, born in Paris, on 1 January 1956, is the first woman to become the Finance Minister of a G8 economy and to head the International Monetary Fund (IMF). She calls for opening the doors to women's learning, labour and leadership in the economic field. This speech was delivered at the National Democratic Institute, Washington DC, on 19 May 2014

1. Can speeches make an impact on the human mind?      

Ans)- Yes , this speech definitely make a impact on human mind. We have already know great men influenced their people with powerful speeches. Our own Dr. APJ Abdul kalam said “ I will fly" is a stimulating speech especially to the youngsters. The message highlights the fact that everyone is born with potential to do something great. These build a self confidence . We all are possess 

inborn ideas to achieve a dream. And also speech about  kalam’ s  inspirational life is a greatest inspiration.  And he said that “ creativity in children leads to culture of excellence “ . Creativity and innovation and imagination of children can completely change their future of country in  right direction. 

2. Why do we make speeches?      

Ans )-Speeches are traditionally been seen to have one of the three board purposes to inform, to persuade and well, to be honest, different words are used for the third kind of speech purpose or to inspire . The aim of speech is to make listeners follow our 

idea and ideologies. The political leaders constantly make speeches to retain  their following and to prove that their policies and programmes are their best. Speech therapy can help with so many more skills pertaining both oral and written.  

Conclusion 

Christine Lagarde suggests various means of empowering women. She persuasively insists on the idea that women should think and act independently. Keeping this in mind, prepare the script of a persuasive speech on the topic 'Education is the Key to Women Empowerment' to be delivered at the school assembly on International Women's Day (March 8).
