Stephen Hawking was born on 8th January 1942 in Oxford, England. His parents were Frank and Isobel Hawking. 

They were not wealthy, but they firmly believed in the value of education. 

Hawking attended the local Saint Alban's school. By the time when Stephen was 8 , he was seriously thinking of becoming a scientist.

His father wanted him to study medicine.

But Stephen was not interested in Biology. 

He wanted a subject in which he could look for exact answers. 

He was just an ordinary school boy, very slow in learning and his handwriting was horrible.

A person cannot be judged by appearance alone.

There are many examples in history. Great men like Mahatma Gandhi , APG Abdul Kalam, Abraham Lincoln , and Nelson Mandela, did not have a very attractive appearance.

 Helen Keller who was deaf and blind has won everyone's admiration. 

  If we had judged Stephen Hawking by appearance alone, the world would have lost the services of that great buoyant
